How can I become a commercial and residential building or custruction inspector?

Building inspectors ensure builders are within construction guidelines set by legislature. I would like to manufacture residential and commercial buildings as a career. With this in mind I believe that becoming a building inspector will help in becoming a successful builder.

1. or going back to school or working for a builder for awhile might also work. Check out the schools that are licensed by the state to teach these courses. Some of the learning may be found online but, this is probably one situation where you might want to SEE what they have to teach! Good Luck.
2. Real Estate School is not all about Realtors - many also have home & commercial inspection schools. They are two separate courses/licenses for those two types of inspectors - somewhat lengthy but you can do a lot of it on line and go live for special sections that are more intense. An inspector is also taught how to run his own business. Once you have a license it will be up to you to promote yourself/get inspection jobs. Your instructors are usually licensed professionals, many with former construction backgrounds. A Realty office in your area can steer you towards the best schools.
